who
we are
Conference of Theatre Arts (COTA) is a new organization dedicated to connecting and supporting artists, educators and benefactors in the theater space, and fostering a culture of open discourse, recognition of value, and collaborative opportunity.
COTA will provide opportunities for connection, development, and support of theatre arts, artists, producers and craftspeople through events, programs, shared resources, and development of works and initiatives. An additional long term goal is to host an annual conference, and feature theater-makers of impact at an annual awards and recognition service (COTAA, Conference of Theatre Arts Awards)
Founded in October 2025 by director, actor and educator Jessica H. Smith, who believes in the value of theater arts in the lives of all who live and work in that space, at every level, across every function, and at every age. Jessica is currently seeking interested collaborators who want to hear more about how they can help make COTA a thriving and vital piece of the theater arts community, and invites interested collaborators to reach out via the contact us section to get in touch.
